Melissa and Doug Puzzles make great gifts for any holiday or birthday. They are excellent for teaching children letters, numbers, and other important concepts. Of course, they are just plain fun too. I first reviewed Melissa and Doug last November. Since then I've made a lot of updates to my main page.
Recent studies from the University of Chicago show that children that play with puzzles between ages 2 and 3 tend to do better than non-puzzle playing peers on spatial tests later. An aptitude with spatial skills give kids an advantage when learning any kind of mathematical or engineering pursuits.
Consider buying puzzles for your children, or any children you need to buy gifts for. They are great for Easter, Christmas, birthdays, or any other holiday.
