Curious George Videos are a great gift for children. Each one is about 30 minutes long and contains full length episodes from the Curious George show on PBS Kids. The DVDs also contain interactive games and coloring pages that can be printed out.
Each video is centered around a theme. For example, Curious George Takes a Vacation and Discovers New Things contains episodes where George goes to Hawaii, the circus, the beach, etc. Along the way he learns about airports, balance, and tides.
Each episode presents a math or science concept in a way children can understand it. The Emmy Award winning show is also available by the season or as individual episodes on Amazon video.

Brave the Movie
Brave the movie is the newest movie from Pixar. It will be in theaters on June 22, 2012.
Brave is the story of the Scottish Princess Merida. Merida is a tomboy that loves to laugh and is wicked with a bow. The daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor, Merida is not a typical Princess. She participates in a contest of skill normally reserved for the first-born male of the rulers of Scotland. This creates a huge problem for her family, especially her mother, and also for the kingdom.
After being granted a wish by a Wise Woman, Merida is cursed terribly. The only way to undo it and save her family is to show an extraordinary amount of courage in the face of extreme danger.
I am always excited to see a children's movie with a strong female lead. Hopefully, the movie is great and does very well. This is Pixar's first attempt with a heroine. The trailer looks great!

Twilight Breaking Dawn Video
The Twilight Breaking Dawn Video will be for sale on February 11, 2012. They movie is offered in a 2 disc DVD and a 1 disc BluRay.
Breaking Dawn Part 1 is the fourth movie in a five part series. The last movie, Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be out this November. Breaking Dawn was very successful at the box office, as were the previous Twilight movies. Not surprising, considering the books were wildly popular.
The movie begins with the wedding of Edward and Bella, then honeymoon and all the consequences associated with it. Bella's storyline, through to the end of the movie, is very interesting. Unfortunately, she looks awful. Kristen Stewart, the actress who played Bella, looked very much as I imagine a heroin addict. The storyline would not have been as believable otherwise.
Some unexpected (at least to those who haven't read the books, problems arise for Jacob, as long as some heavy drama with his pack. As usual, Taylor Lautner looks great and does a good job of being Bella's friend while also still being in love with her.

Loving Family Minivan Review
Last week I reviewed the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse. Today's review is for the Loving Family Minivan that goes along with the dollhouse.
The minivan is gray with pink and yellow interior. It has a radio that plays a couple of tunes. The radio button also activates the horn. My kids love the tunes and sometimes push them over and over.
The minivan seats the mother, father, and twin boy and girl that come with the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse. It will also seat 2-3 additional people, but children fit the best. The rear of the minivan doesn't work well for the taller (mostly male) figures.
The only problem with the minivan is that the doors come off. All the time. My two year old has carried away two of the doors to his room. The third one is in the living room and the fourth one is still on the minivan. They are hard to get back on too.
I am not sorry my daughter received this as a gift. She plays with it and likes it a lot. I can't really recommend because of the door issue. It might not bother some people though!

Loving Family Dollhouse Review
In my toys for four year old girl article, I mention the Loving Family Dollhouse as a possible gift. I ended up purchasing this for Christmas. It was a huge hit in my home and I am very pleased with it. Visit my complete Loving Family Dollhouse Review.
It was easy to put together, no missing parts, no hassle. The dollhouse is compact and stores nicely next to my daughter's kitchen.
I thought the dollhouse was very affordable considering its size and features. It was pretty easy to find on sale locally and also on Amazon.com.
The Loving Family dollhouse also has a lot of accessories available that you can purchase. I bought several of them and I will review them in the future.
I think this toy will last a long time. My daughter plays with it everyday. I love that she has to use her imagination.

The Secret World of Arrietty Trailer

The Secret World of Arrietty is a new movie from Studio Ghibli. This beautifully animated movie from Japan will be released in the US on February 17, 2012.

Studio Ghibli is the company behind such popular titles as My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service, and the Academy Award winning, Spirited Away.
The Secret World of Arrietty is the story of young Arrietty Clock, a tiny girl that lives under the floorboards in the home of an old woman. The woman's great-nephew comes to visit and accidentally meets Arrietty.
This movie is based on the classic book, The Borrowers. I am really looking forward to this movie. I've been in love with Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki movies for a long time. The Secret World of Arrietty, released as The Borrower Arrietty won Best Animation Film in the Japanese equivalent of the Academy Awards in 2011.
This looks like a great movie for kids (and adults). I can't wait to see it!
